DAIR GPU Driver Update

On February 2, we will be updating our infrastructure to a new NVIDIA GPU Driver which requires all instances using these GPU to be updated. Any GPU deployed after February 2nd will get the new Drivers during install and does not need to follow this process.

Ubuntu / CentOS users:

Follow these steps:

1. Download the new driver (version 450.89-452.87) from this link or execute the following command:

$ wget https://swift-yyc.cloud.cybera.ca:8080/v1/AUTH_ca447e24e0f84eab8e6f6b93703b774a/public_files/NVIDIA-GRID-Linux-KVM-450.102-450.102.04-452.77.zip

2. Extract the driver using unzip. This can be done in the File browser or via the CLI

$ unzip NVIDIA-GRID-Linux-KVM-450.102-450.102.04-452.77.zip

3. Make the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-450.89-vgpu-kvm.run file executable with the following command:

$ chmod 755 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-450.102.04-grid.run

4. Install the driver with the following command:

$ sudo ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-450.102.04-grid.run

5. Reboot your instance and test by running nvidia-smi with command:

$ sudo shutdown -r now

6. Verify the new version (ensure version is 450.89-452.77) with the following command:

$ nvidia-smi

Windows users

Follow these steps:

  1. Download the new driver (version 450.89-452.77) from this link
  2. Extract the driver using unzip
  3. Run the 77_grid_win10_server2016_server2019_64bit_international.exe installer
  4. Reboot your instance once complete
  5. Reconnect to your instance and open the NVIDIA Control Panel > Help menu > System Information
  6. Check for version 450.89-452.77
